Canada Malting Co. Limited believes that better beer begins in the barley field. As such, we have developed a very strong, direct relationship with growers throughout the Canadian prairies. Through our elevator system, direct delivery program, producer cars and broker network, Canada Malting buys approximately 80 percent of our barley directly from producers, under the auspices of the Canadian Wheat Board monopoly. We contract specific varieties and qualities of malting barley, and segregate such by specific parameters, as dictated by our customers. Through our network, we are able to differentiate ourselves by having on-the-ground contact and communication with thousands of malt barley growers. This unique communication allows us to relay information between customers and farmers on topics that include variety development, specific quality traits, and overall industry concerns and opportunities.
